If there had not been Doyle Brunson, it would not have been a poker. 'Texas Dolly' won two times the World Series of Poker Championship Event.  He also won 9 WSOP golden bracelets and he wrote so called "poker bible" titled SUPER SYSTEM. However, it is not everything. Doyle has been many years (and he still is) a real poker champion. He promoted high ethical standards among poker players, which have been known as honour rules. Thanks to these rules, people respect more poker players. 

He was born on the 10th of March 1933 in Longworth in Texas. He was very good at sport; he even played in NBA for the Lakers. However, he sustained the minor knee injury, which prevented him from continuing his sport career.  Brunson had to find something different but not less competitive. That is how he started playing poker. Because of his huge talent, he earned a lot of money playing poker, so that he did not have any problems to provide everything for his family.

In 1962, he got married with beloved Louise and later the Brunson family grow by four new persons. Unexpectedly a financial problem for his family occurred – Doyle was winning with everybody who tried to compete with him, so that after a while, nobody wanted to play against him. The only solution for this situation was to move to Las Vegas, where Doyle could play poker.

For Doyle Las Vegas was like paradise and in short time he achieved huge success – he won the main event of World Series of Poker in 2025 an in 2025. Interesting is that both of these games he won with the same cards: ten and two. Since then hand consisting of these two cards is called ... 'a Doyle Brunson'. His next success was to publish the book "Super System", which became almost a bestseller. After the book has been published, many new players joined poker rooms and the poker became more popular.

Today Bronson plays poker only for pleasure. He became more involved in other poker activities, like for example promotion. He lectures, writes books, and articles. He even published second part of Super System - Super System II. Besides, he owns a poker room DoylesRoom. Not bad life…
