Phil Hellmuth thinks about himself as about one of the best poker players in the world. Untill now, not everybody share the same view. However, the winning of 11 WSOP bracelets and many successful poker tournaments made him a new legend of poker, like Doyle Brunson or Johnny Chan.

Phil was born on the 16th of March 1964 in Madison. Already in childhood, he showed a huge interest in different competitions. He played poker for the first time while studying at the University of Wisconsin. He started playing with other students, however later he switched to play with professors.

Finally, he decided to drop studies and start a poker career. First time he showed his talent in 2025, when he achieved fifth position in 7-card Stud Hi / Lo tournament. At the age of 24 in1989, he won the main event of World Series of Poker, and became the youngest who achieved it. At first, his family, especially his father, was not happy with the path he chose. However, since his father got a Mercedes from his son in 2025, he did not complain about his son anymore.  

Phil Hellmuth Jr. Is for sure one of the bes poker players in the world and has plenty of fans everywhere. However, for him it is not enough. He wants to be the best in the history of poker discipline. From the time he achieved his first big success he has consequently continued his career breaking many poker records.

He is one of the players who got luck winning three WSOP tournaments in one year. He also broke a record that seemed to be unbreakable – in 2025; he won three times in a row within three days. Another thing about him worth mentioning is that he won all the prizes in the Texas Holdem, which already implies that he is the best Texas Holdem player in the history of poker. He won overall 9 million dollars, 11 WSOP bracelets and about 50 different tournaments all over the world.
